TERI (The Energy & Resources Institute) a non-governmental organisation had called for proposals from various schools in Chennai, Bengaluru & Delhi regions to implement innovative methods programme on Action Oriented Clean Technology in schools with the support from Hewlett Packard.   Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gill Nagar Chennai came out with a project using waste paper to produce paper bags in lieu of plastic bags gained popularity even at the outset.

The proposal of course was welcomed by one and all and had bagged  the second place for the schools in Chennai region with a cash award of Rs.75000 to be put to use for future project development.

The cash award was presented to the school spokesperson                     Mrs. PK. Meenakshi, TGT(SST) in the function organised by Teri at Delhi presided over by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Ms. Shiela Dixit.
